Thanks to Central Oregon STEM Hub and OSU Cascades Computer Science Department, on December 17th, middle school students from Bend and Redmond were able to experience a day full of coding and problem solving in the world of computer science. With the help of OSU Cascades ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) students and Redmond School District’s Insructional Technology Team, 60 middle schoolers engaged in a probability challenge with Microbits, machine learning in action with Scratch, as well as a campus tour and lunch!  Students and teachers were able to learn side by side as they coded their way through the day.  Looking to incorporate more coding like this for your students or would like to bring technology and computer science into your curriculum?  Contact Mike or Vickie today and we’ll help set the stage for computational thinking in your classroom!
