bee and sphero project

In December, 5th graders at Tom McCall learned how bees have such an important role in the agriculture industry of Oregon, as well as all over the World.  Without bees, many crops would not continue to thrive, as they do today.  To tell the bee story of various crops grown in Oregon and their reliance on bees, students programmed Sphero to move it’s way across the map, identifying and describing the who, what, where, why, and how of bees with a particular crop.  Students were excited to show what they learned in a unique way via Sphero and, hopefully, continue to share their understanding of the importance of bees to others.
